Leah Willis Dance Arts announced this evening that an enormous partnership has been formed, with one of the nations leading retailers of innovative home and life renovation. As the world's largest home improvement retailer, The Home Depot has been empowering individuals across the world to take on projects, ideas and tasks in a creative, safe, fun and educational way. The Home Depot’s guiding principals and values include an unwavering dedication to Giving Back, Doing The Right Thing, Building Strong Relationships and an Entrepreneurial Spirit. There are 4 more principals, but these 4 speak loudly to the initiative that LWDA has in place, as it pertains to their overarching service to the Youth. Leah Willis Dance Arts will be constructing what they call the: LWDA Family Garden.

One of the facets within LWDA’s offerings, is Service Learning Opportunities for the Youth. This very important facet is in place to allow their students hands on experience with time given to uplift and sustain the communities and neighborhoods in which they live. Agricultural Education and Self Sufficiency are tenets in and of themselves, that automatically lend to lowering carbon footprints, creating more fresh oxygenated air through plant growth, and key survival skills.

Opportunities for students to learn entrepreneurial, and life skills, through the development and cultivation of the produce they help to grow, maintain and attempt to bring to local markets will also be part of this amazing experience.

In addition, LWDA regularly hosts what’s called their LWDA Healthy Habits Nutrition Program. They take great care in teaching students the value and benefit of “healthy in, healthy out.” Intelligent choices when it comes to caring for and sustaining the human body is paramount, especially for an active lifestyle. The LWDA Family Garden will directly allow students to see and appreciate the process of how healthy, nutritious foods develop, and be able to consume them for the successful attaining of their professional Performing Arts Careers.

“The Home Depot is always happy to invest in our community,” said Will, one of the Store’s Supervisors at the store located in Brentwood, MO. It was the team at this store that brought Leah Willis Dance Arts its supplies that will allow their Family Garden Initiative to....well.....GROW! “This means so much to us and our Youth!” Exclaimed LWDA CEO Leah D. Willis, MBA. With endeavors such as these, LWDA pushes forward to empower the Youth in whatever community they serve with a diverse range of services, uniquely and innovatively, and continues to push the envelope with just what a “Performing Arts” or “Dance” Organization can really do.
